Action Packed Weekend! And a picture packed post!

After the week, no make that month, I've had I needed this! We went camping at Fall Creek Falls (TN State Park) this weekend. It is family tradition that we go at least once a year to FCF. Last year was interrupted by renovations to their on reservation only areas. Instead we went to Rock Island (another great place, but not many level camping spots and out of the four sites we had none were even close to being level). This year it was nice to be back to normal. Look at the photos below (you can see more by clicking on one and going to my album) and it is easy to see why we fell in love with it's rustic beauty. As teenagers my friends and I would cram 30 miles on our bikes in out typical 2 night stay. Why? Because we had to see everything at least once! We didn't bring our bikes this time, but I went on a hike with my brother (and more - we had a friend go from place to place in their van as she is 3 months from her due date. So we lost some people and gained some people through out the hike. The majority of it was just my brother, sister-in-law and me. We walked from the campground to the cascades, from the cascades to the bottom of the main falls back up, and walked all the way back to the campground.

First stop... The Cascades! As a kid this was my favorite! One part of it we used as a water side another part can be used for diving. Man is the water cold!

Next stop? The main falls. This water fall is 275 feet tall and it is a long walk down to it and back up! On the way down we walked past a rock wall that feels like air conditioning!

Nearing the end of the trail we decided to finish our trip by walking up the creek instetad of walking down the trail.

Thanks for going on the hiking adventure with me!

Sunday morning about 3 am it started storming like crazy. The thunder shook the camper and the booming was so loud it was hard to go back to sleep. It was still raining that morning while we were getting ready to go after having breakfast at the inn.

My sister-in-law Leslie is 8 months pregnant. Here she is with Joey... her hubby and my brother.

Ready to roll!

On our way out we stopped at the main falls again. None of us had seen the "small" falls on the right so big!

Family photo!

On our way home after lunch it started to rain. It was coming down in sheets and this was all we could see for miles! The cars on the right are parked on the shoulder.

After all that about 20 miles from home it cleared up and was mostly sunny like nothing had ever happened. It made unloading the camper easy. Hope you enjoyed the photos!
