Busy Bee

My husband and I spent all weekend de-cluttering, painting and organizing our house to make it more sellable (we are maybe, possibly, selling our house to buy a house we've wanted for years). My in-laws came over Sunday and helped all day which was wonderful. We are going to try to stage our house as much as possible and my mother-in-law, Sharon helped me decide not to pack away dishes my mom's mom gave me before I moved into our current house. We showcased them in my china cabinet and I couldn't be happier about how it looks. This morning I was getting ready for work and saw how the morning light came through the back door and hit her old dishes. I am going to print this picture out and show it to her so she can see it. I love these dishes!

What do you all think about staging? Do you think it is worth it? Does it make a difference in what you think about the house?

Don't forget about the Blogaversary! I plan on getting to every one's blog tonight... I miss you all.

Hope No One Passes Out...

I just posted 2 days in a row! Comment on this post to enter my Blogaversary drawing again.

Here is another quote from my great grandmother.

"Dear Lord you are my rock
So I ask, seek and knock
Give me Hope, Faith and Love
You are my hope for Heaven above
When days are dark and things go wrong
Teach me thy throne to seek
When I am weary, faint and weak
When it seems I reached the end
And worldly cares wall me in
Let me knock and call to thee
To open my prison and set me Free"

Seriously blogger! That was supposed to be horizontal!!!

1st Blogaversary!

Yesterday marked my first Blogaversary! To celebrate I wanted to give away one of my photos 5x7 in size with a white or black mat for an 8x10 frame (winner picks color). I am not giving a frame away because everyone has different taste, so you can get the frame to best suit your home. After talking to both my mom and Beth they both agreed on "Foggy Morning". It is one of my personal favorites. In order to qualify you must comment on this post or any newer post up till March 17th. Winner to be announced on March 20th. Please only comment once per post. The more posts you comment on the more times you are entered to win. I promise to post more often.

The printed version will not have my name water marked on it. Many of my photos have some type of edit, but this one is straight out of the camera believe it or not. I took this in my side yard one morning. I was late to work because I had to go back inside and grab my camera, but it was so worth it. For Christmas 2 years ago my mom received an 8x10 print matted in an 11x14 frame. I couldn't believe how happy it made her.

Good luck!

Cookies and Quotes

Found the note pad I was telling you all about!!!

From my great grandmother Richardson's tablet.

“Dear Lord
With me abide
My raft is so frail
O the Sea so
Rough and wide”

“The difficult age
has come to lit
I am to tired to work
And too poor to quit”

There is more to come. I have some more quotes. Can't give them up all at once.

I made cookies for my husband and work tomorrow. Oatmeal cancels out the sugar and bag of mini kisses right?

It's All About Me

I actually was going to post some quotes from a note pad I found at my grandmother's that used to be my great grandmother's, but I can't find it at the moment. I will try to do that at the end of the week. In the mean time Rosa had a Me-me posted and I thought "why not?"

Trying To Catch Up!

I think I took on too many Internet projects between flickr, facebook, myspace, blogger and everything else! Sunday I came down with a sinus infection and stayed home Monday. The Dr. gave me a antibiotic. I was in the living room trying to learn my husband's golf game on Playstation 2 so I can kick his butt next time and I heard I noise in the dining room. I look over and lo and behold Saber is on the table! She knows better than to do that. As soon as she saw me she spun out and took off to hide in our bedroom. It was like "CRAP! I forgot YOU were home!" I refuse to tell my husband because he will have a conniption fit for sure.

(she is just yawning, but scary, huh? LOL)
6/30 Bad Cop

That afternoon Cliff calls me and tells me he is "mad" (he likes to give me a hard time) at him for giving the infection to him. How dare me right? My life is not complete with out making him sick! ;) Cliff came home from work and we played 9 holes and he still kicked my butt! Although it was much better than my first game. LOL Even with that triple bogey on the first game my real golf game is so much worse. The most common phrase from my last real game was "Where did that ball go? Oh well... I have more!"
Par For the Course

I have a tough decision to make. My camera is becoming less reliable and Cliff told me the other day we need to use our refund to get another camera. On one hand I love the idea of a new or gently used camera on the other it is a lot of money to be spending right now when mine is still among the living. So I have to decide if my current camera can be fixed, to buy the big bad brother to mine or to buy the new model of the one below mine. I can't decide what to do.
