8 Days Old!

Sunday our little guy (barn name is Sunny) turned 8 days. He continues to grow and get healthier. Which makes me very happy. We have had many visitors that have come to see him. It amazes me at everyones interest in babies. He is a friendly little guy. I think he enjoys the company. When we let him out to play he ran around, bucked and kicked then laid down and slept. Then he got up and did it over again.

If you or a friend is interested in a Arabian colt he will be for sale after he is weaned and gelded.

Here my husband is messing with him.

We introduced my 2 mares to the baby yesterday too. We put a halter on Mae, just in case we needed to grab her for some reason, even though she never wears one in the field and she couldn't stand it. She kept shaking her head and rubbing her face on her legs. My husband put it on her and she would go up to him like "Take it off!!!!" Why you ask? Because she may not be the boss horse at the barn, but she is the queen! She only wears one when we are working with her of hauling her some where and she knows it.

I couldn't resist this picture of Runt (the barn cat) she was cleaning her self and I caught her tongue out. He he!

Window Views

Today was so nice that I decided to open up the windows. Saber learned that we had a window and the bedroom so I had to take pictures since she jumped from the bed to the window to look out. Normally she has something to sit on (like a couch) instead of the sill.

Let me explain something about this cat... I don't know how other house cats are since she is our only one, but when she gets an interesting scent she has to shove her nose on the object to get it all in. When we come home from the barn she has to smell every inch of us before we can pet her. I'm wondering if she is like "Whew! You smell awful!" Anyway she must of smelled something different on the curtain, because she has to pull it in with her paw to get it against her nose in the next two pictures.

New Baby!

One of the horses was pregnant and finally had her baby Saturday morning. He is just the sweetest little guy! Some of the photos are not as sharp as I would like since it was really too dark to use the telephoto lens, but I don't like the way his eyes look with the flash...

Snow Day!

Yesterday was a snow day. I didn't get out much because I wasn't feeling well, but I did stick the cat on the deck and take a picture plus i took some through the door of the back yard.

This on is Saber's Paw, but I didn't have the camera ready to take the picture

This on I had the camera waiting and ready.

These are looking out the back door.

Later on I went to my mom and dad's to take pictures of the horses, but most of the snow was melted by then. I will post the horses later.

Flipping Out

My husband and I were playing with the horses yesterday and decided to give them thin mints (in moderation... Only 1 cookie each) and Coca-Cola. My Tennessee Walking Horse, Lady, flips her nose whenever she eats something interesting. It is pretty funny. She cuts her eyes around at us like "what are you laughing at?" Normally she inhales anything we give her, but this time she took little nibbles of the cookies. As if she was savoring each bite.

The bay horse is Emmie our Arabian. Mae my TN Walker cross was standing behind me waiting to be touched. She is usually far more interested in being loved on than treats. I have a picture of her at the bottom wondering what the heck he was trying to give her.

Singed

Why is it that my cat insists on playing with the gas heater? Every time it kicks in it goes “woosh” and flickers. I’ve tried to discourage her from investigating it. Saturday morning I was lying in bed when I heard such an awful noise it was as if the heater had been ripped from the wall! I jumped up to check and found her on the dinning room rug with singed whiskers pouting like a 2 year old child. Maybe now she will leave the darn thing alone!
